Freemasonry is an individual journey towards becoming a better father, husband, friend, citizen and man, supported by other men at different points on the same journey. For centuries, the Lodge itself has been the launchpad for Masonic Education, and a common ground for Brethren of different backgrounds to meet and exchange ideas, provide support and offer friendship.
Masons live by the principles of Brotherly Love, Relief and Truth.
The traditions of Freemasonry are founded upon the building of King Solomon’s Temple, and its fraternal ceremonies use the working tools of the stonemasons to symbolize moral lessons of Brotherly Love, Relief and Truth.
Freemasonry is not meant in any way to interfere with an individual’s commitment to his faith, family or occupation. Freemasonry is not and never can be a replacement for these important institutions; rather, it is a positive environment that reminds every Mason of himself, his family, community and the Supreme Architect (an individual’s own definition of a Supreme Being.)
Freemasonry is the leading fraternal organization in the world. Its origins are lost in the unrecorded history of medieval times, but it formally organized in London, England, in 1717. Current worldwide membership totals over 3 million members, 1.1 million of whom are in North America. With 75,000 Masons and 450 local Lodges, Ohio has one of the largest Masonic memberships of any state in the country.
As a fraternal organization, Freemasonry unites men of good character who, though of different religious, ethnic or social backgrounds, share a belief in the fatherhood of God and the brotherhood of mankind.
The Artificer's Global Check-in stickers are popping-up all around the world, in the most interesting of places! Participate in this growing culmination of Freemason check-ins! Provide as much or as little information as you like. Just send a little "Hello Brothers!" by completing this form. Feel free to download and print your own stickers (single or sheet of 4). Est.2019
One thing and only one thing a Masonic Lodge can give its members which they can get nowhere else in the world. That one thing is Masonry.
Freemasonry embraces the highest moral laws and will bear the test of any system of ethics or philosophy ever promulgated for the uplift of man
There are no strangers in Freemasonry, only friends you've yet to meet.
The secret of Masonry, like the secret of life, can be known only by those who seek it, serve it, live it. It cannot be uttered; it can only be felt and acted. It is, in fact, an open secret, and each man knows it according to his quest and capacity. Like all things worth knowing, no one can know it for another and no man can know it alone.

It’s the worlds largest and oldest fraternity. Our particular Lodge, Cincinnati-Lafayette No. 483, was founded in 1831 and is located in the Cincinnati Masonic Center, downtown at 317 E 5th Street, next to the Taft Theater. We are an all-inclusive group of energetic, fun and true men who enjoy spending time together while bettering ourselves and the organizations with which we associate. We accept men of all backgrounds, races, creeds and philosophies, with only a few limitations:
A candidate must believe in a Higher Power (It’s up to the individual to decide what that is).
A candidate must be financially solvent (not dependent on others for support).
A candidate cannot have a felony conviction on his record.
A candidate must be 19 years of age or older.
Thats It! If you would like to be a part of a group of men you can trust, with whom you can build life-long friendships, and know they will be there for you and your family, Freemasonry might be for you. If you look for opportunities to give-back to your community through charitable activities, Freemasonry might be right for you. If you simply have a true love of learning, Freemasonry might be right for you.
